Impact the Mediterranean through Transform 2010!

Posted by mission trips on Aug 27 2009 | a list of short term missions trips around the world!, going, but I'm not sure, group short term missions trips, longer term missions trips for 10+ months

“There’s a big mobilization plan for the whole Mediterranean area. Pray about getting involved- these are some of the most unreached nations in the world!”

                       - George Verwer    Founder, Operation Mobilization

450 Million people live in the 21 modern countries around the Mediterranean Sea.
Christianity’s roots lie in the Mediterranean region, yet many do not know the story of Jesus Christ or who He is.

Imagine hundreds of people from all over the world coming together by the Mediterranean Sea for a week of worship, training, and teaching. Imagine these same people going out together in teams to reach the Mediterranean nations with the Gospel.

Conference – July 19-24, 2010
Transform 2010 will host thousands of people joining together in Rome, Italy for 5 days of teaching, worship, prayer, and training.

Outreach – 2 weeks or 6 weeks or “GAP” 1 year
Everyone will split up into teams and spread out into the countries surrounding the Mediterranean. Types of ministry teams will include sports, arts, immigrants, traveling teams, 24/7 prayer teams, and teams working alongside long-term missionaries.

Operation Mobilization has officially launched their newest and largest ship Logos Hope for world missions!

OM ship Logos Hope in London

Grand celebrations were held in London on board the ship! Christian volunteers of any age are needed to work on the ship short term and long term.  No prior experience necessary! What a great short term mission trip or long term mission trip opportunity!

“God puts the world in your hands. Don’t let it fall down” was an echoing message in the Emmanuel Centre, London, at the end of the Saturday evening event for the Logos Hope London Launch.  Pastor Nims Obunge (Nigeria) challenged people to pray for the world and drove the point home through passing a huge, inflated globe around the audience.  OM Founder George Verwer shared about seven transformational words and finished with the most important one for him - mercy. As the evening came to an end, a Parade of Nations shared some of the cultures of the ship and in prayer some leaders commissioned the crew as it sails to the Caribbean.  Read more about their ship Logos Hope.

What a short term missions trip did to a pastor!

Posted by mission trips on Jun 22 2009 | a list of short term missions trips around the world!, going, but I'm not sure

A senior pastor recently went on a short term missions trip with OM to the Middle East. Here is what he wrote about the transformation he experienced in his life and ministry when he returned:

1. My preaching has changed. I have a greater zeal to see the church become the mobilized body of Jesus and it is reflected in my challenges.

2.  My approach to the gospel has changed. I grew up with the 4 Spiritual Laws, the Romans Road, the Bridge Illustration, etc…now I encourage people to tell their story, to tell the stories of Jesus.

3. My marriage has changed.

4. My view of the church has changed. I am thinking about how to become a mobilized church for Christ that is centered on the true mission imparted to us by Christ.

5. My view of young people has changed. We are investigating how to get our high school seniors to give one year of their like to missions immediately after graduation.

6. My prayer life has changed. I am much more global in my prayer life. I am planning with my missions team, a half day of prayer to pray for the nations.

7. My view of community has changed. My eyes opened for a deeper need for community – of celebrating (as a body of Christ) more often together.
